During the 3rd Wind Conference – Wind Energy and Birds in Gdansk we found many interesting issues concerning the impact of onshore and offshore wind farms on birds, regulatory changes shaping the future of onshore wind energy in Poland, challenges faced by developers today, or issues concerning optimal coordination of wind farms with nature.
The most important conclusions we returned from the 3rd Wind Conference with:
🔹 Wind power and natural conditions – guidance on conducting as-built monitoring and the need to develop consistent guidelines for environmental impact assessments.
🔹 Regulatory changes – amendments to laws, new support mechanisms for virtual prosumers, and work on designation of OPROs (RES Development Areas) to speed up investment processes.
🔹 Practical challenges in the development of onshore wind farm projects.
The conference provided a great opportunity to share knowledge and exchange experiences between PST experts and industry leaders, enabling them to discuss the impact of renewable energy on biodiversity and look for ways to better use technology to support a sustainable and environmentally sensitive energy transition.
